Influence of variable amplitude loading on copper-alloyed components

Due to recent developments in the mobility sector, the importance of copper-alloys in the classical mechanical engineering is more eminent than ever. The fatigue analysis of copper-alloyed components is done, to date, based on personal experience or experimental, which is a very individual and costly venture. A generally accepted guideline for the analytical fatigue analysis like [1] is missing for copper-alloyed components.

In this contribution, it is shown, how variable amplitude loading influences copper-alloyed component and how the component’s properties influence its fatigue life.

In this contribution, it is shown, how variable amplitude loading influences copper-alloyed component and how the component’s properties influence its fatigue life.

Therefore, fatigue tests in regards of the influence of component related influences on the fatigue life of components made of copper alloys are conducted and results from the literature are researched and evaluated to derivate a first suggestion, how an analytical fatigue assessment based on [1] for those components could look like.
