The e-powertrain of commercial vehicles consists of cells and modules, battery housing(s) with cooling circuit and controller units as well as the wiring and the electric motor. The components are subjected to combined loads from charging and discharging, thermal loads and superimposed mechanical loads. These types of loads must be taken into account when validating the individual components and the entire system. This article addresses the special requirements of commercial vehicles and uses the example of a high-voltage storage system to show the individual steps on the way from load assumption to final release with focus on experimental proof.
